Product Description
Safety-Trim is an electronic speed controller designed specifically to operate the electric servo trim tabs found on many experimental category aircraft. Safety-Trim does more than just provide the switching and speed control functions typically used to operate standard servos. It provides an important safety feature that greatly reduces the possibility of run-away trim conditions. The technology implemented in Safety-Trim ensures that the trim servo(s) being operated are not accidentally driven to the limits by common problems, such as stuck, welded or inoperative input switches, inadvertent contact of input switches, and failed electrical components. Additionally, Safety-Trim provides a way to recover from an inoperative trim switch, allowing the pilot to get the plane trimmed back to neutral.
Stand alone trim models are available in single or dual axis controllers, 2 speed presets for high and low speed trim actuation that allow separately adjustable trim speeds for different flight configurations. Both the regular single-axis and dual-axis models also have a reverse function. Safety-Trim works for applications involving DC trim motors rated for operation at 12 volts DC and up to 1 amp. Safety-Trim is designed specifically to operate electronic servo motors, such as the Ray-Allen T2 and T3 series and also has an output which may be used to power the Ray-Allen trim position indicator (14 volt operation only, up to 100m Amps max).
Safety-Trim is also available in a single axis heavy-duty model for DC trim motors and linear actuators rated for operation at 12 volts and up to 10 amp.
Safety Trim is also available in two servo booster models for autopilot systems in either 12 or 24 volts. Safety Trim Servo Booster is designed specifically to receive input commands from compatible autopilot systems, such as the Garmin G3x GSA 28 or a traditional dpdt type rocker switch. Safety Trim Servo Booster operates DC electric servo motors up to 10 amps of rate current.
